Ohio/Indiana Region Update: Now Great Lakes!

January 22, 2008 10:11 AM

The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) today announced that it has renamed the Ohio/Indiana Region to reflect the tremendous growth and extended reach of the program in recent years. The regional program will now be called the Great Lakes Region in recognition of the diverse home states of the drivers in the program and also the location of the tracks that the program visits during the year. The new name was selected by polling members of the region and asking for input on names they felt would accurately represent their chosen region.

"We've been thrilled to see how the Great Lakes Region has grown under Regional Director Dave Royce's energetic and enthusiastic leadership over the past few years," said Jerry Kunzman, NASA's Executive Director. "The growth he has achieved is remarkable and we hope to continue the upward trend as more enthusiasts discover the excellent program Dave has put together."

Regional Director Dave Royce added that "With the explosion of growth in the OH/IN Region over the last two years, now is the right time for a name change. We appreciate how far drivers are traveling to experience our program and feel a name "upgrade" better reflects our future customer."
