Toyo Tires Continues as NASA's Official Tire for 2009

January 9, 2009 1:48 PMToyo Tires LogoThe National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce the continuation of Toyo Tires' sponsorship of NASA programs for 2009. Toyo will remain the Official Tire of NASA and the spec tire for NASA racing classes with spec tires rules. Toyo has continued their generous "Toyo Dollars" program that allows top-finishing racers to receive rebates on their future tire purchases. All NASA spec tire classes will run on Toyo's next generation Proxes R888 competition DOT radial tire which offers excellent value and creates an even playing field for racers in those classes. The Toyo contingency program provides over $1,300,000 of contingency value to NASA racers, which makes this program incredibly beneficial to the competitors and one of the most lucrative programs in the sport. 13 racing classes are included in the spec tire program and Toyo has included every NASA class in the 2009 contingency program. For regional contingency program awards, a top driver in one of the spec tire classes can receive up to $2,000 in contingency for regional race wins over a season. Furthermore, Toyo will pay out awards of $1000, $500, and $250 in additional contingency money to the top 3 finishers in the regional Championship battles for spec tire classes. The 2009 contingency program also includes lucrative rewards for open tire class competitors and Time Trial competitors who finish well at the 2009 NASA Championships at Miller Motorsports Park. Complete details on the Toyo contingency for the 2009 NASA Championships will be released soon.
