NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RACE RESULTS (Thursday Group B)

National Auto Sport Association (NASA) 2010 National Championships presented by Toyo Tires.

Group B Qualifying Race 1, 2:20 p.m. (25 minute race)

American Iron (AI)

 

Thirteen muscle cars arrived at Miller Motorsports Park to go for the NASA National Championship in the American Iron class.  Tommy Schlender, sponsored by Applegate Garage, won the first qualifying race in AI.  George Winkler set the fastest lap of the race with a 2:09.929 and grabbed the second finishing position.  Bryan MacMillan, M-Racing, finished third.

 

American Iron Extreme (AIX)

 

Chris Griswold set a blistering lap with a 1:59.556 to win the first qualifying race of American Iron Extreme.  Jim Pantas, sponsored by Julie, came in second spot.

 

STR 1

 

Seven cars registered for STR1 but only five hit the track for the first qualifying race.  Mark Alger, sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts, picked up the win and set the fastest lap of the race with a 2:02.594.  Terry Free, sponsored by Pole Position Raceway, grabbed second spot.  Troy Lindstrom, sponsored by Lynam Industries and Jagermeister, driving his blue number 66 Super Truck, nabbed the third spot.

 

STR 2

 

Three cars made it to grid for the first qualifying race of STR 2.  Josh Carroll, sponsored by Endsight, set the fastest lap of the class with a 2:07.393, and won.  J.R. Smith, sponsored by Pfadt Racing and API Speed Shop, finished second.  Kyle Kelly, sponsored by Upracing.com and Apex, grabbed the third and final spot.

 

Two separate qualifying races (one Thursday and one Friday) will determine grid positions for NASA National Championship races, Saturday and Sunday, September 18-19, 2010, at Miller Motorsports Park.
