Group E Qualifying Race 2, 3:45 p.m. (25 minute race)

944 Spec
David Dirks won the second qualifying race for Spec 944 (against 26 competitors). Dirks, in his 944 MotorWerks Porsche, also won the first qualifying race. But the fast lap of the race was set by second place finisher Tyler Palmer, sponsored by Black Forest Porsche with a lap of 2:19.868. Third place went to Austin Newmark, sponsored by DHE & German Auto in his number 47x Porsche 944.
Spec E30
The second qualifying race for Spec E30 saw its National Champion and first qualifying race winner, Chris Cobetto, slip to third place. The win went to Frans Hansen, sponsored by Cruiseweb.com, who set the race’s fastest lap with a 2:22.114, two solid seconds faster then everyone in his class. Frans finished third in the first qualifying race, which should help him with his grid position for the National Championship race. Gary Rieger, sponsored by Berkeley Motor Works, finished in second place.
