American Iron (AI)

The American Iron National Championship race for 2010 was a close battle with most of the field running nearly identical lap times in the 2 minutes 10 seconds range.  Dean Martin, in his RehagenRacingProducts.com sponsored Ford Mustang, came out of nowhere (he didn’t podium in either qualifying races) and fought his way to the front.  When the double checkered flags few Dean Martin became the 2010 NASA American Iron National Champion.  Second place went to David Royce and third place went to Ross Murray, both in Ford Mustangs making AI a pony car sweep.

American Iron Extreme (AIX)

The National Championship race for American Iron Extreme originally only had two contenders.  Then on Sunday a contingent of Camaro Mustang Challenge guys decided to jump into the fray and have their own little race in the back of the pack to try and grab the final podium spot.  But in the front of the race was Chris Griswold in his Ford Mustang obliterating the field by over fourteen seconds per lap.  Chris drove flag to flag to become the 2010 NASA American Iron Extreme National Champion.  In second place was Jim Pantas in another Ford Mustang.  Moving his way through the field to find a spot the AIX podium in third place was James Ray.

Super Touring-R 1 (ST-R 1)

In the Super Touring-R 1 National Championship race it was a battle between Mark Alger in his Dodge Viper and Troy Lindstrom in his Super Truck.  Alger, sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts, pulled away early and ended up winning the race making it a clean sweep for him in ST-R 1 (he also won both qualifying races).  Algers efforts earned him the title of the 2010 NASA ST-R 1 National Champion.  Lindstrom fought hard all race long to make sure his Lynam Industries and Jagermeister sponsored number 66 Super Truck finished second.  In third place was Evan Gardner sponsored by Mobius Motor Sports.

Super Touring-R 2 (ST-R 2)

Prior to the Super Touring-R 2 Championship race, Josh Carroll was favored to win after winning both qualifying races on Thursday and Friday.  But it was Kyle Kelly in his Chevrolet Corvette, sponsored by Upracing.com and Apex, who became the STR-2 2010 NASA National Champion.  Another Corvette, driven by J.R. Smith sponsored by Pfadt Racing and API Speed Shop, finished second.  And the final podium spot went to pole sitter and fast lap of the race holder Josh Carroll in his Mazda RX-7.
