NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RACE RESULTS (Thursday Group D)

National Auto Sport Association (NASA) 2010 National Championships presented by Toyo Tires.

Group D Qualifying Race 1, 3:10 p.m. (25 minute race)

Performance Touring A (PTA)

Performance Touring A (PTA)

 

David Leyvas, sponsored by Diversified, set the fastest lap of the first qualifying race for Performance Touring A in his Porsche with a 2:09.998 and won the race.  Matthew Seech, sponsored by Climatec finished second driving his BMW.  Jeffrey Diffenderfer, Fireball Racing, driving his number 142 Mazda, finished third.

 

Super Touring 1 (ST 1)

 

Aaron Pfadt bested a field of six in the first qualifying race of Super Touring 1, driving his Chevrolet Corvette, sponsored by Pfadt Race Engineering.  Aaron set an outstanding lap time of 1:59.612 on his way to victory.  In second spot was Mark Alger, piloting the number 4x Dodge Viper, sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts.  Third went to Terry Free, driving the number 548 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, sponsored by Pole Position Raceway.

 

Super Touring 2 (ST 2)

 

Super Touring 2 was an enormous field of varying types of racecars with seventeen entrants.  The first qualifying race was won by John Gordon driving his number 30 Porsche 996.  John set the fastest lap of the race with a 2:03.507.  Second spot was Geffrey Sawtelle in his number 222 Chevrolet Corvette sponsored by Pfadt Racing Products.  The final podium spot went to Jon Van Caneghem driving a Mazda sponsored by 7s Only Racing. 

 

Super Unlimited (SU)

 

Super Unlimited’s first qualifying race had six entrants and was won by Pete Johns driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.  The fastest lap of the race, and one of the fastest of the day at the NASA 2010 National Championships, was by Jon Stokes driving a Norma M20 F sponsored by Stokes Tire Pros.  Jon finished second in the first qualifying race for SU.  Picking up the third spot was Bart Carter driving a Radical SR8 sponsored by ATM Merchant Systems.

Two separate qualifying races (one Thursday and one Friday) will determine grid positions for NASA National Championship races, Saturday and Sunday, September 18-19, 2010, at Miller Motorsports Park.
