Group A Qualifying Race 2, 1:30 p.m. (25 minute race)

Factory Five Challenge

Camaro Mustang Challenge (CMC)

Camaro Mustang Challenge 2 (CMC 2)

Factory Five Challenge

Morning qualifying put Scott McKay on the pole.  He had finished in second place in qualifying race 1 on Thursday but his victory hopes were not to be realized.  After setting the fast lap of the race he ultimately finished in tenth spot.  The win went to John George who moved up from fourth position in his number 48 Factory Five Cobra sponsored by Factory Five Racing and Tinboats.net.  TC McNett moved up from third spot and finished second in his number 33 Factory Five Cobra sponsored by Just Cruzin and Alarmco.  The final podium spot for qualifying race number 2 was Karen Salaggio who moved up from fifth position.

Camaro Mustang Challenge (CMC)

Rob Liebbe appears to be a force to be reckoned with in CMC as he won the first qualifying race, set the pole during qualifying for the second race and won that race as well in his Chevrolet Camaro Z28 sponsored by Uncle Al.  David Balingit moved up from fourth to finish second (he finished third in Thursday’s qualifying race) in his Ford Mustang sponsored by Hanksville Hotrods.  Balingit and Adam Ginsberg traded positions from Thursday’s race, Adam finishing third in this race (second on Thursday) driving his number 5 Ford Mustang sponsored by Maximum Motorsports, Donovan Racing and StopTech Brakes.

Camaro Mustang Challenge 2 (CMC 2)

Jeremiah Kellam, sponsored by Bright Futures Foundation, qualified dead last, then drove his heart out to move all the way up and win the second qualifying race for CMC 2.  Jeremiah set the fastest lap in the race (by a mere two thousandths of a second) over second place finisher Nick Steel driving his Unbalanced Engineering sponsored Chevrolet Camaro.  The third spot went to Dave Brown of Team Life’s Good Racing, driving a Chevrolet Camaro sponsored by Hawk Performance and AIP Electronics.

The two separate qualifying races (one Thursday and one Friday) determine grid positions for NASA National Championship races Saturday and Sunday September 18-19, 2010, at Miller Motorsports Park.
