Davy Jones Leads Team for the 25 Hour
Davy Jones Leads Motovation Motorsports BMW Team
for 25-Hour Thunderhill Endurance Race

SANTA ROSA, CA — November 30, 2003 — Davy Jones, who won the 1996 Le Mans 24 Hour Race, will be the lead driver of the Santa Rosa, California based Motovation Motorsports’ racing team at the upcoming “25 Hours of Thunderhill.” The longest endurance road race in the United States is sanctioned by the National Auto Sport Association (NASA). The event will be held December 6-7th, 2003 at the three mile Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, California. The 25-hour Enduro has drawn over 75 teams and press interest from around the country.

Jones’s 20-year record-setting career includes numerous Camel GT GTP wins for both Jaguar and BMW and a 2nd at the Indy 500 in 1996, in what is the 3rd closest finish in the race’s history. He along with Alexander Wurtz and Manuel Reuter, also won the demanding 24 Hours of Le Mans that same year. After suffering major injuries during practice for the inaugural Indy Racing League event in 1997, Jones recovered and returned to competition in 1999, at the 12 hours of Sebring driving for Porsche.

Sharing the driving with Davy Jones are Greg Ross, Carl McGinn and Billy Maher in a BMW M3 Euro Group N car. The racecar was originally campaigned in European endurance races, such as the Nurburgring 24 Hour races in 2001 and 2002, before being acquired by Motovation Motorsports in 2003. Greg Ross, with co-driver Richard Kuchman, recently won their class, and finished second overall, in the RDC Illgen 4 Hour Enduro at Thunderhill. Carl McGinn and Billy Maher have previously teamed to win both 3 Hour and 6 Hour NASA Enduro events at Thunderhill.

The team is supported by Clear Focus Imaging, Toyo Tires, A&A Transmissions, British European Motors, Trefethen Vineyards, 300 Degrees, Miracle Auto Body, Bell Helmets, Chicken Hawk Racing, Bavarian Tuning and Driving Concepts.
