Event #1455: July 21, 2012 - VIR Plantation Valley, Alton, VA
***Pre-registration is FULL and CLOSED. Details email is here. Please email jfelton@drivenasa.com to get on the waiting list.***
This is our fourth kart enduro of the 2012 season and second one on VIR's 5/8-mile Plantation Valley Kart track during NASA's July VIR full course weekend. It will be on Saturday night July 21st for 120 minutes, starting at 6:30pm and ending at 8:30pm. It is an "arrive and drive" event so the karts will be provided. They are 9hp Stratos karts and the track is run clockwise.
This enduro is only open to teams of two (or more) drivers, and at least three pit-stops will be mandatory (stop & go pit stops are allowed; the idea is to make things more equal for teams with additional drivers.) Furthermore, every member of the team must drive at least 10 laps. NASA membership is not required to participate. Spectating is free and encouraged. Consumption of alcoholic beverages by any driver is not permitted.
Please have your team captain and starting driver at the kart track by 6:00pm for registration and the drivers meeting. Other drivers on a team may come later and still participate but it is the team captain's responsibility to relay all information to them.
Full face helmets, long pants, long sleeves, closed-toe shoes, and gloves are required for each driver. A limited number of all these safety items are available as loaners from VIR, but please bring/wear your own if possible.
Drivers must be 18 years of age with a valid drivers license, or under 18 with a legal guardian present (please contact Jon Felton first if any member of your team is under 18.)
There is no qualifying for this race. Starting positions are assigned randomly at the drivers meeting. There will be a standing start. At the end of the 120 minutes, the team covering the most laps shall be declared the winner. Trophies will be awarded for first, second, and third place finishes.
Rough driving is not allowed and is grounds for immediate ejection and disqualification. Point-by signals are strongly recommended. Spare karts will be on hand in case of mechanical failures. Refueling will not be necessary.
There will be no entry fee refunds but substitutions are fine (i.e. you can sell your team's entry to someone else; please contact Jon Felton for details.) We will not cancel this enduro unless VIR cancels it on us due to snow, rain, or storms - in which case the rescheduled date is TBA. If you cannot make the rescheduled date, your team will get a credit toward any 2012 kart enduro. We may be allowed to run in light rain at VIR's discretion.
The person signing up below will be considered the team's captain and point-of-contact. Please list your team's name in the "Sponsor" field. Additional team member names do not need to be submitted until trackside registration opens that evening.

In case it is not clear, the pricing below is "per team" not "per driver." Also, it does not matter which Class you choose on the registration because everyone runs in the same class for an arrive-and-drive kart enduro.
