We are happy to present another edition of our famous (infamous ?!) Targa Baja California. A  road tour in a non competitive friendly environment for the classic era of sports cars *

Open to only 50 entries, this event covers approximately 700 miles over four days. Spectacular scenery, great road conditions, government approvals, and of course the support of our sponsors combine for a wonderful south of the border experience.

Here is the itinerary for the event:

Wednesday (optional) October 25th

Thursday Oct 26th
Viejas Casino / Resort- Event check in from 6:30 am till 7:30 am. Followed by drivers meeting (parking lot), then we take back roads to Tecate USA. We regroup and cross the border together.

Introductions to other government officials, then escorted by the Federales to the Rumorosa (Hill descent and hill climb). Two tours , regroup at the top, then drive into the town for a group lunch (ala carte) . After lunch and gas fill up, escorted drive back to Tecate at the Estancia Inn.  Contact Reservations at 011 52 665 521 3066 mention Grupo Targa Baja California. Your room reservation cost is $70 plus about $9 for the breakfast. You are staying for one night.

Tecate Dinner: We have arranged a dinner at a special restaurant in the town square. Cost is approx $28 per person and included a glass of wine or beer. Local award winning chef is preparing some wonderful delights. We have arranged for shuttle buses to take us there and back, so the cars can remain secure in the Estancia Hotel parking lot, so you can enjoy the evening better.

We will regroup in Ojos Negros and drive the twisty mountain roads back to Ensenada for an open evening.

* Requirements
Car must be in the spirit of the event. 1975 and older makes, with continuation models approved on a case by case basis. i.e. , a 1989 911 / 930 turbo looks like a 75 911, so those are eligible. Replica cars like Cobras, Sebring "Healey" etc are eligible. Got something newer and interesting ? Contact me at targacalifornia@gmail.com and lets talk.

Cars must be registered, and insured in USA (please provide proof of both at event check in)
One occupant per car must be a NASA club member in current standing

Insurance in Mexico is a must ! We will provide you with the link to the supplier we have used in past years. They cover classic cars at market pricing.

PASSPORTS or passport card : A MUST HAVE ! A driver license or birth certificate won't help. If yours is expired or don't have one, there are plenty of on line services that can expedite this for you. Do a search online

Your car should clear a 5" block of wood; Topes (speed bumps ) in Mexico are sporadically placed (entry to Tecate, some other locations) which literally look like cannon balls buried into the pavement. There isn't a lot of them, but you should have adequate ground clearance to navigate over them.

We will e mail entrants a suggested car preparation list to follow.

Entry fee is $510 per car and includes the following:

NASA event insurance for USA side of the border
Event T shirts (2 per car  )<< specify size please !
Event Hood decals (2 per car)
Event small decals (2 per car)
Event windshield banner decal
Mechanic general support / tow (you would arrange payment for anything that takes them beyond a simple repair)
Event tour booklet
Welcome snack and beverages in Tecate

Event hats (2 per entry)

Extra T shirts, hats, decals can be purchased separately
